| Synopsis

An interactive movement and sound art installation that explores interdisciplinary information flow. The audience is invited to use wearable wristbands that wirelessly transmit information about their movement, which in turn will cause a sonic response. Reacting to acceleration and rotation, the sound synthesis program is continuously configurable with different seed sounds and parameters. The resulting sound, in turn, affects the mover’s future decisions, in a constant information feedback cycle.

Stream began as a series of workshops and mini-residencies at Vitruvian Thing in Thessaloniki, where Die Wolke invited dancers and musicians to collaborate towards the creation of new works using interactive technology to interconnect their respective practices. “City”, it’s installation form, opens up to audience participation for the first time.
