| Synopsis

Chris Kremberg works in the media of photography, painting and performance and often collaborates with dancers for her staged exhibition and performance projects.

The beginnings of the project ‘Stille_inbetween’ go back to the Coronalockdowns, in which the first large-scale photographs were developed in collaboration with the Hamburg dancers Nora Elberfeld and Angela Kecinski (supported by grants from the Stiftung Kunstfonds and the Distanzen/Dachverband Tanz Deutschland program). The photographs were created under the impression of the concise experiences during the pandemic: the physical withdrawal of the body and the longing for exchange. At the end of 2021, performances by the dancers were recorded in conjunction with the photographs at the Carolyn Heinz Gallery in Hamburg and at the Gollanwerft in Lübeck (video: Friederike Höppner) – without an audience.

In June, the project was presented with live performances during the Phototriennale Hamburg.
