Join us for an after-program discussion with the artists via Zoom. We invite you to take part in a deeper discussion with the artists about their work and the relationship to the curatorial theme “body and image under the pandemic” and the state of dance film and dance streams.

Noah Del Rosario

| Biography

Noah del Rosario is a young filmmaker from Metro Manila, Philippines. He has been involved in several projects that include short films, music videos, and commercials as a freelance director, editor, and camera operator for the past five years.

 

Noah is a film graduate from Meridian International College who previously had his thesis film “Bugtaw” screened at Cinemalaya in the Shorts A Category in 2016. He has also found success with his other short films such as “Liwanag”, co-directed with Rian Simon Magtaan, which has been screened at the TANZAHOi International Dance Festival in Hamburg, Germany and “Next”, which has been screened as an official finalist at the Asian Cinematography Awards 2020 and internationally at the “Welcome To Asian 3” Short Film Screening 2021 in Nagoya, Japan and at the San Diego Filipino Film Festival 2021.

 

Noah is also a collaborator and artist-in-residence for Para Sa Sining, a local collective of creative individuals and organizations that thrives through collaborative arts. He is the official videographer and occasional contributing writer and host of One Voice Magazine. Whenever he gets the chance, he paints and indulges in film photography.

Rian Simon Magtaan

| Biography

Rian Simon Magtaan is a Malabon-based theater/film actor, writer, filmmaker, and cultural worker.

He is also a published writer and contributor for different literary organizations. A member of Dakila: Philippine Collective For Modern Heroism, resident artist and collaborator of Para Sa Sining, PLUS: The Art Collective, and PAPEL. One of the founding directors of SINING Collective, artistic director of Mementophile Productions, and the founder and current education director of BAON Collective.

Rian is currently working as a corporate slave in a US-based marketing agency and still continues his passion for “commissural” development through art.

Darren Tan Ter Loong

| Biography

As a director, Darren strives to hone his skills, improve his craft and develop his natural intuition as a director through his films. He seeks to entertain audiences through a fusion of relatable characters and unique concepts, with a wholesome story at the heart of it all. He aims to be able to direct a wide range of content, spanning across different genres.

An avid fan of Hong Kong and Japanese Cinema, he enjoys and draws inspiration from films made by directors such as Johnnie To, John Woo & Takashi Miike, whom he considers among his top favorites. He admires their ability to tell stories that range from stylistic action to even the bizarre complexities of the human mind.

Darren is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Television at the Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts.

Raimonda Gudavičiūtė

| Biography

Raimonda GudaviÄŤiĹ«tÄ— started her dance education at Aura Dance Theater in Kaunas (Lithuania) and performed at many dance festivals and theaters both in Lithuania and abroad. She studied dance and acting at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, deepened her knowledge at the Conservatoire National SupĂ©rieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon in France, and completed a master’s degree in contemporary dance at the Theater Academy in Finland. Since 2010 she has been working as a freelance choreographer, dancer and dance teacher. Raimonda teaches both professional dancers and beginners in Lithuania, Finland and Germany. She gained new experience most recently as the leader of a dance class for young mothers with their babies. In 2018, GudaviÄŤiĹ«tÄ— performed in various plays by director Simon Möllendorf (dorfproduct) at studioNAXOS. GudaviÄŤiĹ«tÄ—’s latest work, Forest, which she developed with choreographer BirutÄ— BaneviÄŤiĹ«tÄ— for young children, premiered in March 2020 at the Gallus Theater in Frankfurt. In 2020, together with dramaturg Ingrida GerbutaviÄŤiĹ«tÄ— and cinematographer Sebastian Heindorff, she developed the short film M(e)&M(other), which is also the basis for her latest play, “M(other)”. In the piece, which premiered in October 2021 as part of the Rhein-Main Dance Festival, she appears on stage with her eight-year-old son Elias.
