Si-Ying Fung a visual artist who lives and works in Hamburg. In her works she deals with pictorial expressions of change, tailing and repetition. The starting point is often drawing, which combines with sculpture and performative elements in installations. The relationship between place and identity, as well as making these interactions visible, are themes that emerge in her work in various ways, including as an exploration of growing up between multiple cultures and questions of belonging. After studying illustration and earning a master’s degree in sinology and art history, she has worked as a lecturer and art and cultural mediator at HAW Hamburg, University of Hamburg, MARKK, MKG, for the Art Pioneers and the Pentiment Summer Academy, among others. Currently she is a master student in the class of free art and ceramics at the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts.
