Raimonda Gudavičiūtė

| Biography

Raimonda Gudavičiūtė started her dance education at Aura Dance Theater in Kaunas (Lithuania) and performed at many dance festivals and theaters both in Lithuania and abroad. She studied dance and acting at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, deepened her knowledge at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon in France, and completed a master’s degree in contemporary dance at the Theater Academy in Finland. Since 2010 she has been working as a freelance choreographer, dancer and dance teacher. Raimonda teaches both professional dancers and beginners in Lithuania, Finland and Germany. She gained new experience most recently as the leader of a dance class for young mothers with their babies. In 2018, Gudavičiūtė performed in various plays by director Simon Möllendorf (dorfproduct) at studioNAXOS. Gudavičiūtė’s latest work, Forest, which she developed with choreographer Birutė Banevičiūtė for young children, premiered in March 2020 at the Gallus Theater in Frankfurt. In 2020, together with dramaturg Ingrida Gerbutavičiūtė and cinematographer Sebastian Heindorff, she developed the short film M(e)&M(other), which is also the basis for her latest play, “M(other)”. In the piece, which premiered in October 2021 as part of the Rhein-Main Dance Festival, she appears on stage with her eight-year-old son Elias.
